I smiled sadly for a blog I could not obey
Starting off Sunday with an update on the project I previewed a while back. The reaction has been generally positive from what I've shared so far; many thanks for those who took a moment to leave feedback. The story is almost done; I'm just waiting (as of this writing) for one last correspondent to answer a research question. With any luck, it may be posted this coming week! When it is, I'll update on Twitter and Facebook. More after the cut.

Fantastic!
So, someone apparently saw the wishlist I have at Amazon...
Because a certain something from that list came in the mail today.
To whichever kind soul (or souls) were behind this...
Thank you! Thank you!
I am a happy man today.

freak out in a moonage blogdream
Starting Sunday off with a reminder: Friday, I shared the first bit of a work in progress, a new short story in a new setting with new characters. If you missed it, click here. I'm still interested in your thoughts on the excerpt, if you have any, so pass them along. More on this, and the usual other goodies, after the cut.

four years on
On March 17, 2013, I wrote "It was another crummy Friday for Beth McGill" on my trusty tablet. Since then, I've completed six novels (with one in progress), one novella (again, with one in progress), eight short stories, and a lot of posts on this blog. While not everything has been wine and roses, I have had a blast.
I thank all of you who are on this trek with me, whether you've been here since the beginning or joined along the way, or are even just coming abroad now. I am grateful that you enjoy what I write, and I hope you'll continue to do so.
There's more after the cut...and more than ever, I need to hear what you think.

there's a starman, blogging in the sky
Today's Sunday catchup is going to be brief. It's in part because I'm getting a late start to the day (stupid Daylight Savings Time), and in part because...well, there's something in progress and I need and want to get back to it. If it works, you may see it later this week. Wish me luck!
For now, here's a quick reminder: The Kickstarter for the new album by the Doubleclicks, Love Problems, wraps up on Monday. If you haven't backed this, think about doing so; I get the feeling this will wind up being their best album. Thanks, and one way or the other, I'll have real content up by Wednesday.

The Sound Abounds: The Library Bards!
Welcome to The Sound Abounds, where I
talk about the weird, wonderful world of nerd music! These posts will
feature and discuss musical acts that have performed songs that touch on
(or squeefully embrace) some aspect of geek culture.
In this installment, after the cut: The Library Bards!

and my time was blogging wild
Let's kick Sunday off with this reminder: If you're on Facebook, feel free to like my page there! It's been a bit less active than my Twitter lately, but I try to post or share there several times a week minimum. Drop by and say hi. More after the cut.
